I can’t believe it has been one year ever since I launched this blog and the journey has been beautiful even though petrifying but I am so grateful for everything I have accomplished and I am yet to accomplish. I would also love to thank each and every one of you that read my blog. Knowing that there are people from different countries reading my blog makes me so happy, so thank you.

Before this blog, I had my first blog which terribly failed because I had zero knowledge about blogging and I picked the wrong hosting company and I was not truly dedicated to blogging as I am now. It’s so important to pick the right hosting company if you want to avoid inconveniences.

Why I started blogging?

I’ve always enjoyed writing so I started blogging to share about my personal experiences. When I started blogging (on my 1st failed blog) , I was actually going through depression and I wanted to document my journey and writing my sentiments brought me some sort of relief. You can read about WHY AM I AFRAID TO TELL YOU WHO I AM to get a glimpse of my story.

When I launched this blog I wanted it to be my business and not just a hobby and so I had to treat it with the seriousness it deserved although I am yet to learn a lot.

The good

-It is amazing to connect with other bloggers. The blogging community is very supportive and inspiring and you get to learn a lot from more experienced bloggers.

-Blogging is a continuous learning process because the blogging world is always changing. You get to learn new things every time.

-Running a blog is so much more than typing a few words. There is blog design, marketing, graphic design and so on. And I didn’t know all this when I started.

-I enjoy the freedom blogging gives me as I am able to work from home or on the go as long as I have a good internet connection.

The bad
-It is not a get rich quick scheme. So if you want to blog and make money blogging it will take time and lots of patience.

-It is time and mentally consuming. There are days I spend a 48 hours on just one article and I sacrifice my sleep to make sure everything is fine before pressing that publish button.

-A lot of negativity. Before I launched this blog I got a lot of “This is a bad idea don’t do it” However, I got  a friend who pushed me into launching this blog.

-You can easily be discouraged. In the beginning it can take time to get traffic especially from Google and it can frustrate you. When I started I used to celebrate the 100 monthly readers I would get but after reading the stories from other bloggers I had to set higher goals for my blog.

Plans for the future

New theme and logo
I would really love to change the look on my blog and get a new logo.

Revamp my “About me page”
I would love my readers to know a bit more about me and what I do.

I would also love to reach 10000 viewers per month as this will open up more opportunities to make money.

I want to collaborate more with other bloggers in future.

Those are just some of my future plans I have for this blog.

Do I recommend blogging?
Yes and definitely yes. Blogging is something I enjoy doing and something I would love to do even in 10 years to come.
