Cacao tree in Schokoladen museum |
The exhibits takes you through the chocolate’s fascinating
journey from its early roots in ancient civilizations to the modern day
indulgence we know and love. It was fascinating to see how cacao was
transformed from a bitter ceremonial drink into the sweet treat we savor today.

One of the highlights for me was watching the chocolatiers
at work. Through large glass windows, we saw the entire chocolate making
process; the roasting, molding and wrapping the decadent treats. Watching it
all come together was like seeing a piece of art being crafted right before
your eyes.
I got to experience the towering chocolate tower and you get
a chance to taste a crispy waffle dipped in chocolate. We also got to make our own
customized chocolate bar which we loved so much.
After exploring the museum, we headed to the Chocolat Grand
Café to unwind and we couldn’t resist ordering cocktails based the waiter’s
suggestions.
For students, the museum offers discounts but it is best to
check with the staff at the ticket counter.
